Great for those new to yoga. We will build a foundation of basic poses with emphasis on alignment, breath and body awareness in a safe and supportive environment. We will explore the Universal Principals of Alignment”‘ and poses in the Anusara® Level 1syllabus. Modifications offered.
ANUSARA® INTERMEDIATE YOGA
Expanding on the foundation created in the Basic and Level 1 classes, a wider variety of poses will be taught. This class is ideal for the student who has an established practice and an understanding of the Universal Principles of Alignment.
A no- to low-impact class that focuses on functional movements to improve activities of daily living. Working on full range of motion, body alignment, balance and muscle control. Approachable for all fitness levels and ages.
A blend of Yoga, Barre and Pilates; designed to promote strength, balance and flexibility. Attention to body alignment and use of breath is utilized to learn how to connect your breathing with exercise and all of its benefits. In addition, learning how to stretch and surrender into your stretches – a full body fulfillment.
Explore the connection between breath and movement. Using breath to link a dynamic series of postures, we flow while building strength and flexibility, challenging ourselves to move deeper into our personal practice of yoga. Class begins with a slow warm-up, moves into the “heat” of the practice with a long slow stretch and savasana. Come flow with me!
Power Pilates holds the fundamental approach of Joseph Pilates and Contrology. With a focus on technique and flow, you will be able to gain the awareness and ability to develop your own inner strength; leaving you feeling mindfully balanced and re-energized.
This class incorporates different aspects of yoga, barre and flexibility/mobility training with emphasis being placed on the hip joints and the spine, as well as bringing awareness to the mind-body connection. We will endeavor to increase our mobility and therefore our longevity! Ideal for all levels of fitness.
A slow pace calming practice that brings our focus to quieting the mind and opening up the body through a series of passive stretches. By using props to support the body and stay connected with your breath, it allows for a deeper stretch and release of the tension held in body.
MIND BODY YOGA
Students will learn body awareness through alignment. Learn to build strength, skill, and stamina at a steady pace. Accommodates students with some yoga experience as well as offering a challenge when appropriate to those with a longer practice.
TRX SUSPENSION TRAINING
A training program to develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability; leveraging gravity and the user’s body weight to complete various exercises.
In this class you will learn postural alignment to support your body with stretches that will build flexibility, stability, and strength — using the wall, blocks and straps for support.
